As the church and St. Robert Bellarmine parish move forward into the twenty-first century and the third millenium, both Pope John Paul II and Bishop DiMarzio have written pastoral letters that call us to initiate and carry out a new evangelization at all levels of the church.

In his pastoral letter, Bishop DiMarzio indicates three recipients of the new evangelization.

  1. Re-evangelization is the revitalized proclamation of the gospel as a lived experience in the concrete events of daily life for those already baptized and active in the church.

  2. Other recipients of the new evangelization are those who have been baptized and have fallen away from the practice of the faith.

  3. The new evangelization also asks us to reach out to those who have never known the lord and offer them a message of hope and life in Christ.

As St. Robert's strives to reach out and bring Christ's message to so many in Bayside we are called upon to use all the means available to us including relatively new means of communication.

For this reason, we are pleased at this time, to be able to present a redesigned website which lists and describes the many and varied ministries and organizations in which our time and talent can be shared here at St. Robert's.

The Second Vatican Council reminded us that the Church is God's people working together. It is our hope that this website will bring us more closely together and enable us to reach out and touch many more people.

We are deeply grateful to all who volunteer their support to our parish so generously. Without you, there would be no St. Robert Bellarmine parish. We would offer a special note of thanks and appreciation to our Public Relations Committee for their preparation and publication of this website.

May God bless you and keep you in his love and peace.

Sincerely,

The Pastoral Staff at St. Roberts.
